Opening an existing sound file. Open Praat, click on “Open”, then “Read from file”. You will see a “Sound” object appear in the window, which you can then “View and Edit”. In Mac OS, you can also drag your audio file or files onto the Praat icon. All of the files will then appear as sound objects in the list at once. Current Version
This package contains the fonts, documentation, webfonts (WOFF and WOFF2) and example files. Full source archives are available on Github.
This font package is also available in the SIL software repository for Ubuntu. Users can subscribe to this software repository and get current versions and updates automatically.
Charis SIL is also available through the TypeTuner Web service, which allows you to choose among the smart font features and download a font with those features preset. This enables them to work in many applications that do not make use of Graphite or OpenType Stylistic Sets. TypeTuner Web currently uses version 5 fonts, however we will be working to update it to use the newest version 6 fonts soon.

Subset versions of the fonts for specific regions, based on version 5, remain available. See SIL Font Subsets. Modified versions for special uses are also available. Although not based on the current fonts they should continue to work well. We do not currently plan to update these to version 6, but contact us if you need them updated.
